The Gerber Kukri Machete is a 19\" machete designed not only for style but for function. It is based on a centuries old tool traditional to Central Asia, the kukri, which was traditionally carried for protection and as a utility tool. This Gerber machete has three parts to its sharp 12\" blade. The tip of the blade is for stabbing and poking while the thicker, wider middle section is for chopping and the thin narrow area by the handle is for whittling and carving. The blade is made out of a strong 1050-type steel. The Gerber Kukri Machete is built with a full tang construction that enhances the strength of the handle. The machete features a sturdy and comfortable ergonomic gator grip handle for secure hold in all weather conditions. It also includes a lanyard. The Gerber Machete is housed in a durable nylon sheath for ease of carrying. The nylon sheath has a zipper and a belt loop for carrying. The machete weighs 14.1 oz and the weight rises to 17.6 oz with the sheath on.
